Michael Koerbel has directed commercials for Jaguar, Toyota, Porsche, Scion, Buick, ESPN, Axe, Neff, Johnnie-O, and Royal Caribbean. The AXE “Apollo” campaign containing his “NCAA” and “Indy 500” won Cannes Gold and Silver Lions.

“It’s A Magical Life” for Porsche has been viewed an estimated 60 million times between theatrical, cable, and online audiences, and won a 2012 Silver Effie.

His commercial for Royal Caribbean aired during the 2013 Oscar telecast to over 40 million viewers – and introduced Kristin Chenoweth as the godmother to their latest ship – Quantum of the Seas.

Michael Koerbel has been featured in Adweek, Creativity, New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, PBS, USA Today, and by Apple – as well as hundreds of other publications highlighting his unique iPhone filmmaking and distribution methods. He has spoken at The Academy of Arts and Sciences, the DGA, TEDx,
and most recently, SXSW.

Koerbel and iPhone filmmaking partner Anna Elizabeth James are currently working on their first book entitled, “The Studio in Your Pocket.”

Koerbel directed “Apple of My Eye,” the first film shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4. “Goldilocks,” an action series – his follow-up project – was shot on the same device.
