A triple threat in two languages, Jose Terán is a writer, director and producer. A creative powerhouse who’s got at least a few projects going on at any given time, Jose excels at creating work that uses powerful images to tell an emotional story.
A native of Mexico City, Jose first earned his undergraduate degree from Universidad Anáhuac and then earned a graduate degree in advertising from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Brandcenter. He’s worked in advertising with agencies like TBWA and BBDO before moving into filmmaking.
As a director, Jose is influenced by the technical approach of Martin Scorsese and the personal approach of Sidney Lumet. He views every job as an adventure and an opportunity to deliver the right message to the right audience.
Currently living in Mexico City, Jose started a writing studio with his brother in 2019 that has led to possible projects with HBO Max and NBC.
