Paul is an Asian American commercial director known for his creative visual storytelling, dynamic transitions, and hyper real imagery. He has helmed spots for top brands such as Samsung, Toyota, ASICS, Hasselblad, and OnePlus. His expertise is in simplifying complicated technology through strong visual storytelling. Paul’s projects often involve introducing new consumer electronics to the world.
Before transitioning to directing full-time, Paul worked as a creative director at DJI, the world’s leading drone brand. He led their global brand studio, creating their commercials and branded content. Later, he took his talents to CNN Create, where he developed award-winning campaigns for Hyundai and Fujifilm.
Paul’s international experience growing up in Japan (speaks Japanese) and Los Angeles, working in China and all over South East Asia, has given him a multi-cultural perspective to the craft of filmmaking. He thrives working on international productions and nothing excites him more than collaborating with local film crews.
